ARTWORK GUIDELINES

Good Files Make a Better Start.

Preparing artwork for a custom product doesn't have to be complicated. Use this guide to organize your files and help us understand your design.

File requirements can vary by product, material, printing method, and cutting process. We will confirm any specific requirements for your project.

START WITH THE FILE

Choose a Suitable Format

Send the highest-quality version of your design available. These are general guidelines; the best format depends on your product and production method.

Vector Files

PDF, AI, or EPS files can be useful for artwork that needs to scale cleanly. Make sure linked assets are included and fonts are handled appropriately.

Raster Images

PNG, TIFF, or high-quality JPG files may be suitable for many designs. Use a sufficiently large image for the intended final print size.

Transparent Backgrounds

For designs that need a transparent background, PNG or an appropriate vector format may be useful. Confirm the file supports transparency as intended.

Not sure which file to send? Send us the best version you have and tell us the product you want to make. We can review the file and let you know if additional preparation is needed.

BEFORE YOU SEND

Your Artwork Checklist

A few simple checks can help avoid preventable artwork issues before your project moves forward.

Confirm the Final Size

Specify the intended finished dimensions and orientation. Do not assume the file's page size automatically matches the finished product.

Check Image Quality

Use high-resolution images. Around 300 PPI at final print size is a common starting guideline, but exact requirements vary by process and product.

Review Small Text and Details

Make sure important text, thin lines, and small details remain legible at the intended finished size.

Check Fonts and Linked Images

Embed or appropriately outline fonts where needed, and include linked assets so the design can be reviewed as intended.

Review Colors

Screen colors may differ from printed results. If exact color matching is important, tell us before production so requirements can be discussed.

Allow for Cutting and Bleed

Some products require bleed, safe margins, or a cutline. Follow the specifications confirmed for your particular product rather than guessing.
